How to Dress for a Wedding: A Four-Season Guide for Men

Having Difficulty Choosing What to Wear to a Wedding? Our Tips Will Help You Pick a  Suitable Attire for Different Seasons

A Guide to Choosing What to Wear to A Wedding
Whether or not it is your first time attending a wedding, you will have difficulty picking a suitable outfit. And it doesn’t make it any easier if the event you’re invited to requires you to comply with a dress code. One of the most significant factors that you should consider (apart from getting professional writing services) is the season in which the wedding will take place.

We’ll provide you with some helpful tips on how to pick the right attire for different seasons.

Dressing for a Summer Wedding
Summer is the most popular wedding season. Because the weather is hot, you should wear something that will help you keep yourself cool.

If you are attending a summer wedding requiring you to observe a dress code, you should consider getting a black tuxedo. Although you can rent one, we recommend purchasing a high-quality and reasonably-priced tux from a well-known brand. Your look will be incomplete without formal accessories, such as a bow tie, cuff links, and leather shoes, so consider getting those, too.

If no dress code is required, you are at liberty to pick whatever clothes you feel most comfortable in. Keep in mind, though, that it would be slightly inappropriate to show up for a wedding wearing jeans and a baseball cap (after all, we’re talking about an important event in somebody’s life, right?). You can, therefore, combine a linen shirt with chino trousers, and complete your look with a pair of loafers or brogues. Also, do not be afraid of experimenting with warm colors.

Dressing for a Fall Wedding

Autumn is also a peak wedding season. And, as usual, you have only two options: dress code or no dress code.

The good thing about a fall wedding is that you do not have to worry about keeping yourself cool. Therefore, you have the freedom to choose different fabrics and patterns. The best outfit for a fall event would be a dark-colored suit, possibly gray or blue, in a subtle checkered pattern. To keep things classy, you can combine it with a white shirt. You will not go wrong if you wear a pair of brogues and a leather belt. You can complete your look with a silk tie and pocket square, which should be a bit darker than your suit.

You do not have to go overboard just because there’s no dress code on your wedding invitation. Keep it classy by wearing a suit jacket and matching it with trousers in a different hue. Lastly, you can complete your look with a pair of classic loafers, which will help you feel comfortable on the dance floor.

Dressing for a Spring Wedding
Weather-wise, spring is close to the fall. It also provides one with a wonderful opportunity to overcome the winter rut. Before you enjoy chilled champagne with other guests, you should get yourself a cool outfit that conforms to the dress code you’re required to observe.

If the dress code requires you to adhere to a formal style, you can choose a laid back or traditional look. Go with a black or grey morning coat, striped trousers, and a light-colored cuff shirt. The reserved look will be incomplete without a silk tie and a pair of black leather shoes.

If you can choose a more casual outfit, you should consider combining an odd jacket and trousers or go for a light-colored suit. We recommend selecting a wool outfit – it will ensure good air circulation on a warm day and keep you warm in cold weather. Light shades of grey and blue are the most appropriate, but you can also spruce up your look with a double-breasted coat, peak lapels, ticket pockets, or one-button and single-breasted jackets. Lastly, you can consider wearing a pair of leather shoes, loafers, or brogues.

Dressing for a Winter Wedding

Choosing an outfit for a winter wedding is daunting as your clothes should be smart and keep you warm.

If you’re required to stick to a dress code, consider adding an extra layer of warmth to your suit-and-tie outfit by putting on a waistcoat. This will ensure that you maintain a formal and slick look while keeping yourself warm. Your three-piece suit should be wool or heavy cotton for obvious reasons. Alternatively, you can wear a regular suit and a matching overcoat. You should choose formal shoes with a matching belt to complete your look.

For a less formal look, you can combine a woolen, cashmere, or velvet blazer with a pair of chinos. You can wear a colorful waistcoat and tie that match your overall look.
