Warm weather, crashing waves, picture perfect views – when it comes to your big day, you really can’t go wrong with a seaside wedding. Just steps away from the beach and one of the oldest structures on Long Beach Island, The Surf City Hotel is a true Jersey Shore gem and the perfect location for all wedding festivities.
Back in the day, Surf City Hotel was popular for local fisherman and hunters and then later became the place to be for vacationers and locals alike to sip on their favorite cocktails. Fast forward many years later to the spring of 2017 and it’s still frequented by locals and vacationers, thanks to Colleen and Greg Gerwirtz who purchased the hotel a year ago. “I’ve always spent time in Long Beach Island, my family had a house down here. When the opportunity presented itself, we went for it and bought the hotel”, says Colleen.
Keeping the same seaside charm, Colleen and Greg revamped the hotel with an open floor plan, making Surf City Hotel ideal for private parties, wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, reunions, banquets, and cocktail receptions of all kinds. Their private dining room can accommodate from 30 to 200 guests, so the possibilities are endless.
Long Beach Island is known for its beautiful real estate and beaches but it’s becoming a hot destination for couples who are getting married as well. Colleen shares, “Long Beach Island is starting to pickup as a wedding venue destination. What sets us apart from other venues is that we are just steps away from the beach. You can have your ceremony right on the beach and then walk to our hotel, have your reception and a place to stay afterwards.”
The hotel offers catering packages starting with a Bistro Cocktail Hour with options like scallops wrapped in bacon and teriyaki chicken skewers, just to name a few. For the main course you can choose from an array of buffet options, carving stations and of course delicious dessert choices.
Being that Surf City itself is the perfect wedding backdrop you won’t need much to decorate, but the staff at the hotel are willing and able to help with any of your decorating needs.
Take a drive down to LBI this spring and stop off at the Surf City Hotel, 800 N. Long Beach Blvd and take a look at their new renovations and start planning your next big event!
